This week we’d like to feature some famous poems on our blog for you to enjoy, featuring the works of Grace. Q. Song, Jaqueline Suskin and Wendell Berry. Follow the link to read more!
We hope you find inspiration in these words as we angle towards longer days ahead. We invite you to come walk our greenhouse and our yard to find your own inspiration whether it be in your garden, your art or even your own poetry. Our knowledgeable staff and huge selection of rare tropical and beautiful annuals and perennials are sure to win your heart and brighten your springtime after a long winter.

Grace’s poem contains lines that most of us can relate. She uses powerful imagery to describe her yearning for springtime and her desire to also change into something new. As we experience storm after storm here in New England it can feel like winter will never end, we could all resonate with her words.

Suskin writes a beautiful comparison of our existence to those of plants and romanticizes that relationship we have with plants and our similarities. She often features heavy themes of plants and nature in her work and always paints a beautiful picture of the human experience with her similes.

Lastly, Wendell Berry writes a beautiful love letter to farmers and the work they do. His poem features the harsh but beautiful realities that farmers face. It’s no secret that the food and the plants we buy were grown by the hands of a skilled farmer but we never stop to think enough about what their life might be like.
If you’ve found comfort or inspiration in these works allow us at New england Nurseries to continue to welcome you into our nursery to inspire and bring joy into your life as well.
